Immersive Learning – ‘Through Their Eyes’
Using specialist ageing and dementia simulation kits, carers experience the physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges that can shape a person’s day. This lived experience approach helps carers understand the “why” behind behaviours and respond with empathy and skill.
Participants learn how to:
- Support personal care with dignity and reassurance
- Communicate effectively during moments of confusion or distress
- Understand sensory overload, reduced mobility, and cognitive changes
- Use practical techniques to reduce anxiety and increase comfort
- Approach everyday tasks with patience, clarity, and confidence
- Take home workbook containing practical advice and information and a section to take notes for reflection
